There are many different forms your wedding ceremony can take, from a civil ceremony to a church wedding or blessing. We are able to perform any type of ceremony you choose at Iscoyd Park. No matter what type of ceremony is right for you, here’s our top tips for making the most of Iscoyd Park.
Civil ceremony: The Garden Room
We can host civil partnerships, same-sex marriages and marriages for all religions and faiths in our elegant Garden Room. With a capacity of 130 people this room features a long aisle, series of arches and Portland stone floor. Light floods in through huge windows that look out onto the idyllic gardens beyond. Apart from the stunning chandeliers there is little decoration in this room, meaning you can really make this place your own: your flowers, your colours, your decorative touches, your style. This is your blank canvas to fill as you wish. Placing a large bouquet at the top of the aisle looks beautiful in wedding photos as the backdrop to your vows. Meanwhile you can have fun with how you use your foliage to decorate the rest of the room – here small understated bunches have been tied to the end of chair rows. To add a romantic touch why not line the aisle with little candles too?
Civil ceremony: The Drawing Room
Our Drawing Room is a smaller and more intimate space full of character and history. Old family portraits and classical paintings adorn the walls while chandeliers, a marble fireplace and beautiful wooden floors give this room a romantic elegance that provides a more traditional country house atmosphere. Large Georgian windows give fantastic views across the gardens and park and lift the room with light. Not much needs to be done to this room in the way of decoration, so if you’re looking for an intimate and no-fuss wedding ceremony then this is the option for you.
Our local parish church is located only a short five minutes drive from Iscoyd Park. Nestled in idyllic and unspoilt countryside on the edge of the estate, it overlooks a little brook. The romantic setting of the church is echoed by the atmosphere inside with the beautiful stained glass windows, family memorials and carved inscriptions. The church has a galleried seating area and can accommodate up to 150 people. Thu church itself is beautiful from the inside and out, while the gardens and surrounding land are a fantastic for your wedding ceremony photos. Why not say your vows here then hire a vintage car from one of our preferred suppliers to take you back to Iscoyd for your dream reception in your very own country house?
