winter wedding

It was the above photo of Iscoyd Park, peaking out from behind snow covered trees, that inspired Lolly – the editor of Rock My Wedding – to have her wedding here in October 2012. She said: “One of the first pictures I saw of Iscoyd was of the house carpeted in a blanket of snow. It looked so perfectly chocolate box pretty that it reminded me of one of my favourite childhood books – The Children of Green Knowe – and I knew I had to get married there.”

Since then winter weddings have grown in popularity and Lolly has shared her tips for how to have the perfect winter wedding with us. Yet summer still remains the most popular time to get married at Iscoyd Park. But is this really the best time? We’re lucky to be surrounded by acres of gorgeous land that dramatically changes with each passing season. This gives Iscoyd Park a unique atmosphere all year round, depending on when you choose to get married.

One of our favourite times of year is spring. This is when you begin to see the gardens come to life again. All the bulbs around our lake begin to flower and the sea of colour is restored. It’s a perfect time for a wedding, as the gardens are full of promise and new beginnings.

While the weather can be unpredictable at this time of year, we find this can be the case with any season! Lolly, who chose to get married in autumn, has written about how to make the most of bad wedding weather. Rather than trying to avoid the weather, why not make it into a feature of your day!

Once you overcome any doubts about the weather and how it may impact your day, the possibilities are endless. Our permanent marquee allows you to make the most of views across the garden whatever the weather. Meanwhile our hidden gardens are covered by huge trees, so you can still have your wedding photos on the swing or by the piano even if it’s raining outside!

Autumn weddings offer a lot of inspiration – with halloween and bonfire night there’s plenty of unique ideas to help you create your perfect day. The weather can still be glorious too – when Lolly got married here in October we served welcome drinks outside on the terrace in the sunshine.

Whenever you choose to get married it’s worth considering the options and choosing what is right for you. Iscoyd Park is a versatile venue with beautiful indoor party rooms and acres of gorgeous gardens that provide a blank canvas for you to create your truly special day.

Iscoyd Park is a beautiful venue based in Shropshire, North Wales, available for exclusive private hire for weddings and events.
